Set direction

How to

Set direction

In the following example we want to show the difference between setting direction with direction in base point and with click line.
For this, you create a new curve from the center front to the side seam of a front skirt.

Version 1:

  • Set direction in the starting point of the curve and choose direction with direction in basepoint. (<S> key)
  • Choose a difference angle of -90°.
  • Adjust the direction in the end point of the curve with the same funktion. Set the difference angle to 90°.
  • If you now move the curve, the angle to the center front or the side seam stays the same. The difference angle is determined in the point where the curve hits the base line.

Version 2:

  • Set direction in the starting point of the curve and choose base direction: with click line. (<F> key)
  • Pick the center front with the right principle cursor up as baseline.
  • Adjust the difference angle to -90°.
  • Do the same with the end point of the curve. Choose the side seam as base line and a difference angle of 90°.
  • By moving the curve the angels to the center front or side seam change. The difference angle is determined in the point where you click the line with the cursor.
